I’m not Nyquil-dosed anymore, but I’m still a bit run down and dealing with unrelenting sniffles. Still, it’s been a hectic and productive week, and the next one will be too. I’ve noticed that I’ve gotten to the point where I have a million half-finished projects, and I’ve noticed I finish less the more I have started.
First, I’m going to finish the wall hangings Mistress Mary and I are making for Coronation. I’m really just helping her paint according to the lovely design she created, but Coronation is next week, so that’s priority 1 and then some. Oh, and of course we’re behind schedule.
After that is my OMG PINK greenlandesque cotehardie. Technically it’s not a Greenland gown because it’s front-buttoning and has one fewer gore than the extant Greenland. I did almost all of it before Anniversary, but I just didn’t reach the finish line. I’m doing fabric ball buttons, and the edges of the sleeves and neckline need to be finished. It’s so close, so it’s next. I don’t even really have anywhere to wear it, but who cares? It’s almost done.
Then the tarot pouch, which is coming along beautifully.
Then I can start on my bear bag, which is also going to be beautiful.
Then I have a gift planned for the baronial court, but I won’t go into detail on that just yet.
At the same time, I need to repair my armor, and I’ve been getting (fairly) harassed for not finishing my same-sex diarchy research and publishing the long-promised Compleat Anachronist article people have been asking me for. I think I need to accept that I’m not going to be able to process ALL the information, and talk in terms of relevant samples and larger cultural trends.
Oh… and I’m also centrally involved in the founding of a new guild devoted to the service of photography. So… my plate is pretty full, and I need to get some stuff through the queue before I go nuts.
